The Virtush vegetable pea variety is an early-maturing shelling variety intended for canning and fresh consumption. The vegetative period from full emergence to the beginning of technical maturity is 47-55 days. The plant has a stem 70-75 cm long, leaves of medium size with a blue-green tint and a waxy coating, as well as stipules with spotting. Pods are of medium length and width, dark green in color at technical maturity, with a parchment layer, and the height of attachment of the lower pods reaches 32-42 cm. The yield of green peas from pods is 32-43%, and the mass of 1000 seeds varies from 170 to 190 grams. The variety is distinguished by high yield, which ranges from 37 to 62 centners per hectare, which is 8-14 centners higher than the Alpha standard. Peas at technical maturity are uniform in size and have good taste qualities. Virtush is resistant to fusarium, which increases its reliability during cultivation. Moreover, the variety is suitable for mechanized harvesting, which facilitates the harvest collection process and increases production efficiency. To maintain soil fertility and prevent diseases, it is recommended to observe crop rotation: replanting peas to the same site is possible no earlier than after 4 years. In the interval, this area can be used to grow such crops as potatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, or tomatoes. The Virtush variety is an optimal choice for the North Caucasus region due to its adaptability, high productivity, and quality characteristics.
