Bonus

Blueberry variety Bonus is a tall shrub reaching a height of 1.2 to 1.7 meters and a width of about 1.2 meters. The bush is strong, with upright branches and an open shape, giving the plant an expressive appearance. The leaves are narrow oval-shaped with an original sheen; they are green in summer and take on bright shades of yellow, orange, and dark red in autumn. The flowers are gathered in elegant clusters of bells, blooming in April or May, depending on weather conditions. The bark of the shrub is smooth and brick-red, adding to the plant's decorative appeal. The Bonus variety ripens in mid to late July and early August. The berries are large, weighing from 1.9 to 2.8 grams and up to 30 mm in diameter, light-blue in color with a waxy coating. The fruits are slightly flattened, firm, and have an excellent dessert flavor. Due to its high yield, reaching up to 8 kg per bush, this variety is widely used in private gardens and commercial plantations in America and Europe. Blueberry Bonus is highly frost-resistant, tolerating temperatures down to -30°C and below, allowing it to be successfully grown in northern regions. The plant prefers sunny, open locations and acidic soils with regular watering, especially during fruiting. The shrub is resistant to major diseases and tolerates pruning well, although it generally develops better without it. For proper winter dormancy and formation of generative buds, 30-45 days of cold temperatures below 7°C are required. Under optimal conditions, blueberry Bonus can live for about 30 years, providing a steady and abundant harvest.
