Gladiolus Bride's Bouquet Gladiolus

Structural and Horticultural Profile

The 'Brides Bouquet' gladiolus is a compact hybrid specifically engineered for ornamental landscaping. With a mature height of 40–60 cm, it serves as a functional solution for front-border plantings, where standard high-growing varieties would require excessive structural support. Its compact stature is not merely aesthetic but serves to maintain the integrity of the stem against wind damage in open landscape settings.

Morphological Features

• Inflorescence: Features dense, pure white blooms. The color saturation is uniform, providing a clean visual profile essential for formal and minimalist garden designs.
• Growth Habit: The plant is structurally balanced, with a stout stalk capable of supporting the inflorescence without the need for staking.
• Wintering Requirements: As this variety lacks frost resistance, it requires manual excavation of the corms at the end of the vegetative cycle.

Cultivation and Storage Logic

Optimal performance is achieved in well-drained soil with a neutral pH. The root system thrives in environments with consistent moisture during the budding stage, though waterlogging must be avoided to prevent corm rot. Post-harvest, the corms should be cured in a dry, ventilated area before being transferred to long-term storage. To ensure viability for the following season, they must be kept in a climate-controlled environment at +3…+5 °C. This Ukrainian-bred variety is well-adapted to regional climatic fluctuations, ensuring reliable performance when standard storage and planting protocols are followed.
