Freesia Svetlana

Georgian breeding for exquisite floral solutions

The 'Svetlana' freesia is the result of extensive research by the FRC 'Subtropical Scientific Center of the RAS'. Developed in the mild climate of Georgia, this variety has established itself as a versatile material suitable both for commercial cut flower production and container gardening.

Agrotechnical features and aesthetics

The core value of 'Svetlana' lies in its adaptability and aesthetic variety. The flowers are single-type, with a corolla diameter of 6–7 cm, making them highly sought after in professional floristry for creating compact yet striking arrangements.

• Color Palette: The variety is available in four primary colors: classic white, vibrant yellow, deep purple, and bright red.
• Application: Due to its sturdy peduncle, 'Svetlana' maintains freshness for an extended period after cutting. Simultaneously, the variety is actively utilized as a pot plant for decorative landscaping on terraces and in winter gardens.

The originator of the variety has focused specifically on resistance to common subtropical pathogens, which minimizes the need for fungicide treatments when grown in greenhouses. In today's market, 'Svetlana' occupies the niche of a reliable cultivar for farmers seeking the perfect balance between low maintenance and the high quality standards required by floral auctions.
