Freesia FLEUR DE NEIGE

Georgian Breeding: Focus on Aesthetics and Resilience

The 'Iney' freesias are a testament to the breeding expertise of the Federal Research Center for Subtropical Crops, blending the vigor of southern-origin plants with premium floral market requirements. Unlike mass-market hybrids, 'Iney' is bred to withstand logistical challenges while maintaining a high-end visual appeal.

Visual Profile and Performance Specs

The standout feature of 'Iney' is its deep red, velvet-like petals. The double-flower structure gives the inflorescences a density and volume that are essential for high-end professional floral arrangements. Specifically developed for the cut flower trade, the variety offers distinct advantages:

• Transportation Durability: The stems possess high structural rigidity, ensuring they remain upright during shipping.
• Vase Life: The density of the petals ensures slower wilting compared to single-layered or loose-petaled analogs.
• Fragrance: It retains the signature delicate freesia scent without becoming overwhelming, making it ideal for indoor spaces.

Who is this variety for?

'Iney' is an optimal choice for commercial greenhouses targeting the premium segment. Its double blooms and intense color make it highly sought after for bridal floristry and sophisticated interior arrangements. While the variety requires strict adherence to climate control protocols typical of Georgian horticultural practices, the high yield of marketable stems makes it a robust investment for growers looking to differentiate their product line.
