The Slavіa pea variety is a high-yielding, medium-maturing bush-type variety with upright plants reaching 45–55 cm in height. The leaves are trifoliate, medium-sized, green, and the flowers are white, arranged in multi-flowered racemes. The pods are yellow, slightly curved, containing 5–6 large, elliptical, white seeds with white seed coats. The 1000-seed weight ranges from 290–310 g, and the seed protein content reaches 25.5–25.6%, ensuring excellent taste and good cooking qualities.
This variety exhibits high resistance to major fungal and viral diseases, as well as lodging. It is highly drought-tolerant and suitable for mechanized harvesting. Recommended growing region: Forest-steppe. For planting, the optimal time is late May to early June, when soil temperature reaches +15 °C. Recommended planting scheme: 25–30 cm between plants and 40–50 cm between rows, with seeds sown at a depth of 3–4 cm. Successful cultivation requires a sunny location, light, well-drained soil, regular watering, loosening, and fertilization with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.
The culinary use of Slavіa peas is versatile: pods are delicious when boiled, stewed, or fried, and are well-suited for freezing and canning, preserving their pleasant color and texture after thermal processing. This variety is an excellent ingredient for vegetable stews, side dishes, and cream soups, thanks to its superior taste and good cooking properties.
