Description Perlina
Bush bean variety Perлина is a high-yielding, mid- to late-maturing variety with a vegetation period of about 100-105 days. The plant reaches a height of 35-45 cm, and its pods, 12-15 cm long, are beige with brown streaks and have a dense structure with a parchment layer. The beans are milky-white with brown spots, fleshy and juicy, distinguished by an excellent tender flavor and high protein and nutrient content, including B vitamins and folic acid. Variety Perлина is characterized by uniform pod maturation and resistance to various diseases, as well as cold tolerance — seeds germinate already at +15°C. Yield reaches up to 1.8 kg per square meter. The beans are suitable for consumption in underripe form, like asparagus, as well as for use as whole beans for making side dishes, main courses, freezing, canning, and storage. Growing Perлина beans is not complicated, even for novice gardeners. Sowing is typically done from mid-May, when air temperature reaches +15°C, or seedlings are grown indoors from late April, followed by transplanting into the ground after a month. Sowing depth is 3-4 cm, seed spacing within rows — 12-14 cm, and between rows — 40-50 cm. For successful growth, warm loamy or clay loam soils with moderate moisture are recommended, regular watering during pod maturation (2-3 times per week), soil loosening up to 4 times per season, and application of mineral fertilizers.
