Description Matilda
Matilda is an early and high-yielding variety of climbing sugar snap beans, valued for its outstanding taste and ease of cultivation. The pods of this variety are long, thin, and straight, dark green in color, reaching lengths of 15–18 cm and diameters of 7–9 mm. They are fiberless and veinless, ensuring a pleasant crunch and excellent taste both fresh and after thermal processing. Black bean grains are also a characteristic feature of the variety.

The plant has strong climbing growth with stems up to 3 meters long and average foliage. The lower beans are located at a height of about 40 cm from the ground. Matilda is well-suited for open ground cultivation on supports, and sowing is recommended from April to June when the soil has sufficiently warmed up. Seeds are planted at a depth of 3–5 cm with a distance between plants of about 40–50 cm. To maintain plant health, it is important to regularly keep the soil moist and mound the stems when they reach a height of 20 cm.

One of the main advantages of the variety is its ability to stimulate the formation of new pods with regular harvesting of ripe fruits, allowing for high and stable yields throughout the season. Green beans of Matilda can be used for boiling, freezing, pickling, and other culinary purposes. The pods store well in the refrigerator for several days, making them convenient for home use and culinary experiments.
