TAIGA

Taiga vegetable bean is a mid-season bush variety with compact plants reaching 35-45 cm in height and green leaves. The flowers are of medium size and white color. Pods are cylindrical, slightly convex, elliptical or ovoid in cross-section, without a parchment layer and fibers. At technical maturity, pods are green and 16-18 cm long. Seeds are white, kidney-shaped with a white hilum; 1000 seeds weigh 330-530 g. The variety is characterized by high and stable yield, reaching 84-176 c/ha, which is 8-48 c/ha higher than the standard, and in some regions the maximum yield can reach 203 c/ha.

The period from full germination to technical maturity is 48-59 days, corresponding to the average maturation period. The variety is recommended for cultivation on garden and vegetable plots, homesteads, and small farm enterprises, as well as for use in home cooking and the canning industry. Canned products from Taiga beans are noted for their good taste, making this variety in demand among consumers.

The Taiga variety was bred at the Primorsky Vegetable Experimental Station and approved for use throughout the territory of the Russian Federation.
