Snowdrop blackcurrant is a medium-ripening variety of white currant, developed by Ukrainian breeders. Medium-height, compact bushes with straight or slightly flexible shoots form dense clusters up to 15 cm long. Berries are large, round, with thin but firm skin, translucent white in color. The weight of one berry reaches 0.7–1 gram. The fruits have a delicate dessert-like flavor with a slight tartness and pleasant aroma, making them ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for making jelly, jam, wine, and freezing. The variety is characterized by high yield and simultaneous ripening of berries, which do not drop off the bush. Snowdrop shows high resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good cold tolerance and ability to withstand drought and heat. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions in Ukraine. Fruit production begins as early as the second year after planting, allowing for a quick first harvest. Snowdrop berries are rich in ascorbic acid, vitamins C and E, zinc, magnesium, organic acids, and phytoncides. They possess toning, calming, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties, making this variety not only delicious but also beneficial for health. For optimal growth, choose sunny locations, which promote better development and higher quality yield.
