SUGAR BABY

Cucumber variety Sugar Baby is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid, characterized by high yield and excellent fruit quality. The cucumbers have cylindrical or ellipsoidal shape, dark green color with white or light waxy surface and large bumps. Fruit length varies from 7 to 13 cm, and they are dense, firm, crisp and sweet-tasting without bitterness. Due to these characteristics, this variety is ideal for canning and fresh consumption.

The plant is medium-height with a central stem length of about 35 cm and a small number of leaves. The variety is resistant to powdery mildew and other diseases, making it a reliable choice for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses. The maturation period is approximately 40-45 days, allowing for an early harvest. Yield reaches 1.5-2.5 kg per square meter, and up to 2.5 kg of crisp fruits can be harvested from one plant.

For successful cultivation of Sugar Baby variety, crop rotation should be observed, avoiding planting after cucurbits, beets, sunflowers, and tomatoes. Optimal soil moisture should be 75-85% of its full water-holding capacity. Specific amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers are required to produce one ton of cucumber. Seedlings are grown in pots or trays, followed by hardening off before transplanting. Specialized pesticides are used to protect against pests and diseases, promoting plant health and high-quality harvest.
