Obzhorka

Cucumber variety Obzhorka is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid with high yield and the ability to form fruit without pollination. The zucchini of this variety have a cylindrical shape, 10-12 cm long, smooth and shiny dark green skin without bumps. The fruits are dense, crisp with tender flesh, making them especially tasty for fresh consumption and canning. One of the valuable features of this variety is prolonged freshness retention — cucumbers do not yellow for 3.5-4 weeks after harvest.

The plants are medium-height and medium-branched with green leaves, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic cover. The hybrid is resistant to cucumber mosaic virus and powdery mildew, ensuring a stable yield. Fruit set occurs in clusters of 4-5 fruits in leaf axils, contributing to high yield — up to 13-14 kg per square meter.

For cooler climate regions, seedling cultivation is recommended. Seeds are sown in pots with a 10 cm diameter at a depth of 1.5 cm into specially prepared soil mix, maintaining air and soil temperature at 20-23°С and uniform soil moisture. After germination, it is important not to allow the temperature to drop below 14°С and to conduct 1-2 feedings with mineral fertilizers rich in nitrogen. Seedlings are transplanted after the threat of frost, ensuring successful growth and high yield of Obzhorka cucumber variety.
