ONEZHSKY

Cucumber Onezhsky — a fast-maturing, high-yielding hybrid, suitable for cultivation in open ground and polyethylene greenhouses. Fruit set begins on day 36-40 after mass germination. The plant is indeterminate, with limited lateral branching, predominantly female flowering, which promotes intensive simultaneous fruiting of several ovaries. Cucumbers are short-fruiting, 8-10 cm long, cylindrical, large-buckled, with dense black hairs and excellent taste. Fruit weight is approximately 78-82 g, making them convenient for pickling and preservation.

The hybrid is characterized by high cold resistance and resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, anthracnose, root rots, and bacterial blight. Due to these qualities, as well as its extended fruiting period, Cucumber Onezhsky ensures a stable and prolonged yield. Commercial yield reaches 7.8-14.1 kg per square meter, making this variety attractive for personal subsidiary farms and farms.

For successful cultivation, seeds or seedlings should be sown at the beginning of May, when soil temperature reaches 14-15°C. Seed depth is 1.5-2 cm, and planting density varies depending on cultivation method: 4-5 plants per square meter for flat planting, and 3-4 plants for vertical cultivation on stakes or trellises. Soil should be fertile and well-aerated, with addition of sawdust or leaves. Care includes regular watering with warm water every 2-3 days and fertilization, conducted every 10 days, combining watering with application of fertilizers such as manure or urea.
