ELECTRON 2

Cucumber variety ELECTRON 2 is an early-maturing, bee-pollinated type, intended for cultivation in open ground and spring plastic greenhouses. Plants are medium-height, medium-strength, with short vines up to 1.5 meters long and moderate leafiness. Flowering is of mixed type, promoting stable and abundant fruiting. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to major cucumber diseases such as olive and angular leaf spot, as well as true and false powdery mildew, ensuring reliable yield even under adverse conditions. Fruits of ELECTRON 2 are large-ribbed, cylindrical, with white down, 9–14 cm long and 75–80 g in weight. The cucumbers are firm, crisp, free of bitterness, with excellent taste qualities, making them ideal for pickling and preserving. The variety is characterized by prolonged and abundant fruiting, which can last until late autumn, allowing for a prolonged supply of fresh cucumbers. Cultivation requires sowing seeds at a depth of 1.5–2 cm at a temperature around 25 °C, followed by lowering to 20 °C. Sowing into the soil is recommended at soil temperatures above 13 °C and air temperatures above 15 °C, while transplanting seedlings should be done after the threat of frost. Timely watering and feeding, as well as covering the plants with plastic film and horizontal stem training with tying to a trellis, are necessary for optimal growth and fruiting. Planting density is 3–4 plants per square meter, which promotes good development and high yield, reaching 22.1 tons per hectare.
