FAMILY FAVORITE

Cucumber "Family Favorite" is a fast-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid, ideal for cultivation in plastic greenhouses and open ground. The period from germination to the start of fruiting is 40-43 days, making this variety one of the earliest among parthenocarpic hybrids. Plants are strong-growing, female-flowering, forming 2 to 8 fruiting nodes per node, ensuring high yield — 15-17 kg per square meter.

The fruits are cylindrical, 11-14 cm long and 100-130 g in weight. They are moderately ribbed, covered with white down, giving them an attractive appearance. The fruits have an excellent flavor, juiciness, and lack of bitterness. Due to their dense structure, cucumbers retain a crisp texture during pickling and marinating, and possess high commercial quality, which is retained for up to 10 days after harvest.

For successful cultivation, seeds should be sown into the ground or as seedlings at 20-30 days old when transplanting. Plants are tied to a trellis and formed into a single stem, with lateral shoots pinched off above the second or third leaf. Regular watering, weeding, loosening, and feeding are essential. Harvesting should be done every 2-3 days to maintain high-quality yield and stimulate further fruiting.
