Cucumber Okoshko is a popular parthenocarpic hybrid developed by domestic breeders. This variety is distinguished by high productivity and excellent taste qualities, making it attractive both for beginners and experienced horticulturists. The cucumbers have a cylindrical shape, fruit length from 10 to 14 cm, and weight from 80 to 120 g depending on growing conditions. The fruit surface is medium-ridged with densely arranged bumps, green color with short stripes. Due to parthenocarpy, this variety can form fruit without pollination, which is especially important when growing in enclosed spaces such as greenhouses, balconies, and windowsills. The Okoshko variety is characterized by early maturity: the first cucumbers can be harvested as early as 41-43 days after germination. The main stem of the plant is strong-growing with moderate lateral branching. The fruits form in clusters of 5-8 per leaf axils, ensuring high yield — from one plant under plastic film, you can harvest 6 to 8 kg of cucumbers. To maintain active fruiting, it is recommended to harvest cucumbers at the cornichon stage (about 7 cm) or even earlier, at the pickling stage (about 5 cm), as fruiting in clusters occurs sequentially, not simultaneously. Cucumbers Okoshko are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B-group, as well as potassium, magnesium, and calcium. They are low-calorie and high in fiber, which aids digestion and helps maintain normal blood sugar levels. The variety is resistant to pests and diseases, simplifying care and reducing the need for chemical treatments. Thanks to these qualities, cucumber Okoshko is an excellent choice for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouse and balcony conditions.
