BRAVE SOLDIER

Cucumber "Brave Soldier" is a new early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid designed for cultivation both in open ground and in protected soil. The plants are climbing and moderately branched, which promotes a bouquet-like arrangement of fruits. The cucumbers have a cylindrical shape, finely ribbed surface, length from 6 to 9 cm, and weight from 50 to 80 g. They are distinguished by high taste quality: crisp, juicy, sweet, and absolutely free of bitterness, making them universally applicable. The hybrid "Brave Soldier" is characterized by abundant fruiting and uniform fruit size, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest. It possesses high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, downy mildew, and olive spot, as well as to pests. Thanks to excellent storability and transportability, the cucumbers retain their qualities during storage and transportation. The plants tolerate adverse conditions in open ground well, expanding cultivation possibilities. The cultivation technology includes sowing seedlings in the first half of April at a depth of 0.5-1 cm, followed by transplanting in early May. In greenhouses, it is recommended to grow using trellis method, while in open ground, sowing is carried out at the end of May – beginning of June at a depth of 1-2 cm. Irrigation is performed with warm water, and soil loosening should be shallow to avoid damaging roots. Fertilization is carried out every 7-10 days, alternating organic and mineral fertilizers, starting with the first application two weeks after transplanting seedlings. If necessary, plant protection measures against diseases and pests are applied to maintain crop health and productivity.
