The VA-BANK cucumber is a fast-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid designed for cultivation in glass and plastic greenhouses. The period from germination to the start of fruiting is 43-48 days, allowing for an early harvest. The plant is robust, tall, with a female flowering type, forming one to two fruit buds per node, sometimes up to three or four. Leaves are medium-sized, green, and the plant exhibits an indeterminate and moderately branched growth habit. VA-BANK cucumber fruits are cylindrical, 14-16 cm long, dark green with faint light stripes, covered with medium-sized bumps and white spines. The weight of one fruit ranges from 130 to 150 grams. The cucumbers have an excellent flavor, being sweet, crisp, and aromatic, making them ideal for fresh salads, as well as for pickling and marinating. The hybrid boasts high market yield, reaching 17-20 kg per square meter during spring-summer cropping. VA-BANK is resistant to true powdery mildew, moderately resistant to downy mildew, and tolerant to root rots and viral diseases, ensuring stable yields even under adverse summer conditions. Seeds are sown for seedlings in April, and seedlings are transplanted into greenhouses at the end of May to early June, when they have 3-4 true leaves. Direct sowing into the ground is also possible in May-June. With proper care and adherence to agronomic practices, VA-BANK will become a reliable source of tasty and high-quality fruits.
