Description Apogei
Cucumber variety APGEE is an early-maturing first-generation hybrid intended for commercial production. The plant is bee-pollinated, medium-height, with oval-shaped fruits having a bumpy surface covered with white hairs. Fruit length ranges from 10 to 12 cm, and weight reaches up to 100 grams. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 400 centners per hectare, and resistance to downy mildew. It is suitable for cultivation in both plastic and polycarbonate greenhouses as well as in open ground, making it versatile for various climatic conditions in the Central and West Siberian regions.

For successful cultivation of cucumber APGEE, seeds should be sown in warmed soil at a temperature not lower than 13 degrees Celsius, typically during the late spring to mid-May period, when nighttime frosts are absent. Seeds are planted at a depth of about 2 cm, with no more than 5-7 plants per square meter. To improve pollination and increase yield, it is beneficial to plant different cucumber varieties nearby. An important agronomic practice is removing suckers from the first three to four leaves to form a strong root system. Unlike older late-maturing hybrids, APGEE produces only female flowers, so stem pinching is not required.

Particular attention should be paid to watering and fertilizing the plants. To prevent bitterness in fruits, avoid soil drying during fruit set and active fruit growth, especially from June to August. It is recommended to water cucumbers with warm water and use mulching with fresh grass to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and reduce the need for soil cultivation. Fertilizers should be applied to moist soil, avoiding contact with foliage, and not applied during cold or cloudy weather when roots poorly absorb nutrients.
