Description DITYATKO
Cucumber Dityatko — a fast-maturing, high-yielding parthenocarpic hybrid with exclusively female flowering, intended for cultivation in open ground and plastic greenhouses. This self-pollinating indeterminate variety features medium-height growth and a tendency to form clusters of fruits at each node, allowing up to four fruits per node. The fruits are spindle-shaped, with medium-ribbed surface, medium-density bumps, green color, and white spines. Fruit mass is 90–95 grams, length 10–12 cm, diameter 3.5–3.8 cm. Flavor qualities are excellent both fresh and for preservation or pickling, with no bitterness and crisp, firm texture. Hybrid Dityatko exhibits high resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis), ensuring stable yields and preservation of fruit quality even under adverse conditions. The plant is medium-branched with medium-sized green leaves. Due to parthenocarpy, cucumber does not require pollination, simplifying care and increasing fruiting reliability. Yield reaches up to 15 kg per square meter in open ground and up to 22 kg under plastic coverings, with fruiting continuing until frost. For successful cultivation of cucumber Dityatko, use fertile, well-aerated loamy soils, and follow agronomic practices: sowing seeds at soil temperature not below 13°C and air temperature above 15°C, transplanting seedlings after frost risk with density of 3–4 plants per square meter. Plants require support and shaping via pinching lower fruits and lateral shoots for proper development. Irrigation and fertilization are best done using specialized fertilizers. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in gardens or on balconies with sufficient sunlight and vertical supports.
