YUZHANKA — this is a corn hybrid designed for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Southern Steppe, Northern Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polесьe. The plant is characterized by high resistance to stress conditions such as drought and lodging, ensuring stable yield. Corn height reaches 250-270 cm, and the grain has a bright yellow color and dent shape, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 360 to 400 grams. The moderate rate of grain drying allows efficient use of the harvest for various purposes, including feed, starch, and silage production.
To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to observe optimal planting density, which varies depending on the cultivation region: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in the Forest-Steppe, 45-50 thousand in the Central Steppe, and 40-45 thousand in the Southern and dry steppe regions. This adaptation ensures effective resource use and contributes to obtaining a high yield, potentially reaching 170 centners per hectare.
Special attention is given to protecting plants from diseases, particularly southern corn rust — a fungal disease that reduces leaf photosynthetic activity and, consequently, yield. To combat this disease, fungicides such as Ultrafit, Azoxin, Poligard, and Bolivar Forte are recommended. In addition, the use of growth stimulators and microfertilizers helps improve plant resistance and overall condition.
