Weber

Weber corn is a modern mid-season simple modified hybrid with FAO 420, developed for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. This hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance, resistance to lodging and stem breakage, as well as high resistance to major diseases such as downy mildew and gray leaf spot. Plants are tall, reaching heights of 210-280 cm, forming ears up to 24-25 cm long with 16-18 rows of kernels, which have a yellow dent color and a 1000-kernel weight of approximately 280-290 g. The vegetation period allows harvesting grain with low moisture content, facilitating harvest and storage.

The Weber hybrid has high yield potential: when grown under dry farming conditions or under irrigation, it can yield up to 10-11 t/ha of grain, and under optimal conditions and irrigation, yields can reach 16.9-17.5 t/ha. Additionally, the hybrid is suitable for silage production with a potential yield of 56-70 t/ha. The recommended plant population prior to harvest is 40-45 thousand per hectare in the Steppe and 55-60 thousand per hectare under irrigation.

Seed production is carried out by LLC "Rost Agro" (Poltava region); seeds are supplied in packages of 80,000 units and undergo fungicidal treatment with the product Maxim XL. The Weber hybrid was developed in cooperation between the Institute of Grain Crops of the Steppe Zone of NAAS of Ukraine and LLC "Rost Agro" and registered in the State Register of Varieties of Ukraine in 2015 and 2020. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability, Weber is a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high yield under variable climatic conditions.
