Maize SX 250

The SX 250 (DB Hotyn) corn hybrid is a mid-early, simple-modified hybrid with FAO 250, intended for grain production. It is characterized by high yield stability and good adaptation to various climatic conditions, including drought and high temperatures. The plant reaches a height of 230–240 cm, with an ear attachment height of 85–95 cm, exhibiting strength and resistance to lodging. The ear, 22–24 cm long, contains 16–18 rows of yellowish-orange kernels, with possible red streaks, and a 1000-kernel weight of 280–300 grams.

The hybrid demonstrates high yield potential, especially in steppe zones, where grain yields reach 8.0–9.0 t/ha and silage yields reach 11.6–12.3 t/ha. It is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe, due to its disease resistance and resilience to stress factors. SX 250 has high cold tolerance, drought resistance, and efficient water use, ensuring stable yield formation even under adverse conditions.

A key feature of the hybrid is its robust, vigorous plant with one or two ears, contributing to high productivity. It responds well to improved growing conditions and exhibits high growth energy. The disease protection system is traditional; the hybrid is resistant to diseases such as rust, stalk and ear fusarium, helminthosporiosis, and stalk rot. Recommended planting density varies depending on the growing region, allowing optimization of yield and grain quality.
