With an FAO range of 190–240 and a growing season of 110–120 days, the crop demonstrates the predictability highly valued by agronomists working in regions with moderate moisture.

The key difference between 'Stalker' and many competitors is its genetic resistance to diseases that annually consume a significant portion of potential maize yields. Breeders focused on protection against:

It is important to note: its main strength is grain production, so attempts to use it for silage will be economically inefficient.
