Maize SK 184

French breeding for premium popcorn production

The SK 184 hybrid from the French breeding house RAGT is a highly specialized tool for farmers focused on the snack food market. Unlike standard dent corn hybrids, this material requires a specific agronomic approach but offers unique profit margins.

Why choose SK 184?

• Specialization: The flint-type grain possesses high density and endosperm elasticity, which is the critical factor for superior "popping" expansion in popcorn production.
• Technological Reliability: This product from Societe Ragt 2N S.A.S demonstrates stable maturity in the mid-season segment, allowing for precise harvest planning.
• European Quality: RAGT genetics are renowned for their adaptability to temperate climates, ensuring predictable results where other "popcorn" varieties might lose their commercial properties.

Target Audience

SK 184 is ideal for operations working under direct contracts with snack processors. Its key feature is not the volume of commodity mass, but the grain's geometry and physicochemical properties. This is a choice for professionals who prioritize the expansion coefficient during heating over gross yield per hectare. By choosing this hybrid, you are investing in a high-value product, minimizing risks during processing on extrusion lines.
