Description NP 1905
NP 1905 is an early-maturing corn hybrid with a FAO index of 190, developed by the Institute of Steppe Agriculture of NAAN Ukraine. It is intended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones and is primarily used for grain production. The plant is of medium height — 190–200 cm, does not form bushy growth. The ear is cylindrical in shape, 18–20 cm long, with 16–18 rows of kernels and 36–38 kernels per row. The ear is attached at a height of 60–70 cm, with a grain yield of 80–85%. The grain is yellow, dent-shaped, with a 1000-kernel weight of 270–280 g. The recommended planting density is 75–80 thousand plants per hectare in the forest-steppe zone and 50–55 thousand in the steppe zone. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: resistance to lodging, cold tolerance, drought tolerance, and resistance to major diseases and pests are rated at 7 out of 9 points. The potential grain yield reaches 11.0–12.5 tons per hectare, making this hybrid attractive for farmers focused on high productivity and crop reliability. To protect NP 1905 corn crops from weeds, the use of modern systemic herbicides, such as a three-component formulation containing mesotrione, nicosulfuron, and rimsulfuron, is recommended. This herbicide effectively controls annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds, providing reliable protection for the crop at all recommended growth stages. Application of such products contributes to maintaining crop health and increasing yield.
