Herbicide Saturn is a post-emergence systemic agent designed for effective control of annual and perennial grasses, as well as common broadleaf weeds in corn fields. The active ingredient isnicosulfuron at a concentration of 40 g/l, belonging to the chemical class of sulfonylureas. The preparation is available in oil dispersion form and exhibits high selectivity towards corn, ensuring safe application and minimal impact on the crop itself. Saturn acts quickly: weed growth stops within several hours after treatment, and complete death occurs within 7–21 days depending on weed species and application conditions. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of biosynthesis of amino acids by acetolactate synthase and acetohydroxyacid synthase, leading to cessation of cell division and weed growth. The preparation is absorbed by leaves and translocated throughout the plant, providing systemic effect. Saturn is especially effective against harmful weeds such as creeping foxtail, goosegrass, barnyardgrass, ryegrass, and others, as well as broadleaf weeds including mustard, ragweed, dandelion, and others. High activity is demonstrated when treating weeds in the stage of 1 to 10 corn leaves, allowing flexible application across a wide range of corn development stages. Treatment is recommended at air temperatures from +15 to +25 °C, in the morning or evening with wind speed not exceeding 4–5 m/s to prevent drift onto adjacent crops. Rainfall should be avoided for 4 hours after application to maintain efficacy. Application rate is 1.0–1.5 L/ha using 200–300 L of working solution per hectare. Co-application with herbicides based on pyridate, bentazon, and 2,4-D, as well as growth regulators, is not allowed, as it reduces efficacy and may negatively affect yield. Shelf life of the preparation is up to 3 years at temperatures from 0 to +25 °C in original packaging.
