Description Titus
Titus — systemic post-emergence herbicide designed for effective control of annual and perennial grasses and a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds in corn, potato, and tomato crops. The active ingredient is rimsulfuron at a concentration of 250 g/kg, belonging to the sulfonylurea class. The herbicide is available in water-soluble granules and is characterized by high selectivity, ensuring safety for crop plants when applied at recommended rates. Titus is primarily absorbed by weed leaves and rapidly translocated to growth points, halting cell division and thereby stopping weed growth within hours after application. Visible symptoms of effect appear within several days, and complete weed death occurs within 15–25 days. The product is effective against a broad spectrum of weeds, including common chickweed, common knotgrass, oats, chickweed, shepherd’s purse, starwort, wild poppy, crabgrass, and others. Titus can be used in any crop rotation and permits double application with an interval of 10–20 days. To enhance efficacy and reduce application rates, it is recommended to use the adhesion promoter Trend, which improves the adhesion of the active ingredient to leaves. The herbicide application rate is 40–50 g/ha, equivalent to 5 g per 100 m², and for treating 10 hundredths, prepare a solution of 5 g of the product and 20–30 L of water with the addition of 20 mL of the adhesion promoter. There are also modified formulations of the product, such as Titus Extra — a two-component herbicide containingnicosulfuron and rimsulfuron, which broadens the spectrum of activity and enhances efficacy against weeds. Nicosulfuron inhibits the synthesis of acetolactate synthase, an enzyme essential for weed survival, while rimsulfuron provides deep penetration into plant tissues due to its lipophilic properties. Titus Extra exhibits rapid action: initial signs of efficacy appear within 3–10 days, and complete weed death occurs approximately by day 15 after application. The product can be applied at various stages of corn vegetation, making it a universal tool for crop protection.
