Maize Sum 9402

Stable yields: Working with the Sum 9402 hybrid

When it comes to German breeding from Saaten-Union, expectations for the field are always high. If you are used to crops requiring 24/7 monitoring, this hybrid will pleasantly surprise you with its autonomy.

Germination and growth

The first thing operators notice during planting is the excellent seed sizing. The seeds feed into the planter evenly, resulting in uniform stands even during volatile spring temperatures. In the early stages, the hybrid shows vigor and avoids the "fussy" behavior of more sensitive varieties. By mid-season, the strong stalk is the highlight: from a lodging-resistance perspective, it scores a perfect five. Even during heavy summer winds, harvest losses remain minimal.

The harvest season

The most important phase begins in late season. Sum 9402 features excellent dry-down characteristics. For a combine operator, this means less time waiting in line at the grain dryer and fewer costs associated with moisture percentages. The kernels thresh clean, and the amount of broken grain during threshing setup is minimal. This saves time on calibration and reduces losses behind the header.

• High initial germination energy.
• Resistance to major fungal diseases common in our region.
• Stable ear formation even under moisture-deficit conditions.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a technologically advanced hybrid that forgives minor management errors and delivers a consistent tonnage on the scales, Saaten-Union's Sum 9402 justifies the investment. It is a case where German genetics work for you, not the other way around.
