Corn Platan MV is a medium-maturing hybrid with FAO 340, developed by the breeding company MAIS. This hybrid is intended for grain production and features a dent yellow kernel type. Plants reach a height of 260-270 cm, and ear length is 23-25 cm. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 295 to 320 g, with a grain yield upon threshing of 82-84%, and a harvest moisture content of 18-20%. The hybrid’s potential yield is 150-160 ц/ha, ensuring stable and high performance even under adverse climatic conditions. Platan MV hybrid is distinguished by high drought resistance and adaptability to various growing conditions, making it an optimal choice for steppe and forest-steppe regions of Ukraine. Plants exhibit excellent water use efficiency and resistance to lodging, which helps preserve yield. Recommended planting density depends on growing conditions: 60-65 thousand plants per hectare under unfavorable conditions, and 70-75 thousand plants per hectare under favorable conditions. For crop protection, post-emergence herbicides should be applied according to growth stages. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to major diseases and pests, including fusarium, rust, and corn borer, with ratings on a 9-point scale. It also shows good cold tolerance and tolerance to seedling diseases and helminthosporium. Due to its characteristics and technological requirements, Platan MV is suitable for conventional processing methods and optimal planting dates, ensuring a stable and high grain yield.
