ODYSSEY 230 SV — this is a medium-early simple two-line hybrid corn, intended for grain production. The plant is tall with broad leaves, the ear is long, cylindrical, medium diameter with strong anthocyanic stem coloring. The grain is intermediate type, closer to dent, with orange upper part and yellow-orange lower part. The vegetative period is about 108 days, which allows the hybrid to mature for direct combine harvesting by the end of August in central cultivation zones. The hybrid has medium yield potential of about 90 c/ha at grain moisture of around 20%, with maximum yields up to 114.8 c/ha under optimal conditions. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to main diseases and lodging, ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions. It is adapted to various soil types and climatic zones, including northern areas of the Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Oblast, as well as the Central Chernozem region. Rapid moisture release by the grain during maturation facilitates harvesting and reduces losses during storage. Morphological features of the plant include a medium angle between leaf blade and stem, weak anthocyanic root and silk coloring, as well as medium spikelet density. The tassel has a medium angle between main axis and side branches, which promotes good ear formation. The hybrid is recommended for grain production to achieve high and stable yields under various agroclimatic conditions.
