The three-line hybrid formula of Motivi KS from the French breeder Lidea is a solution focused on stable yields across a wide range of conditions. At its core is the flint-dent grain type, which combines the rapid moisture release typical of dent hybrids with the high initial growth energy characteristic of flint lines. This allows the hybrid to effectively germinate even in cooler soil temperatures, which is crucial for achieving uniform crop stands.

Phytosanitary Resistance as a Risk Mitigation Tool

A key advantage of Motivi KS is its breeding foundation, aimed at countering the most dangerous maize pathogens. High resistance to stalk and ear fusarium, as well as common smut, minimizes yield losses under stress. This genetic protection enables agronomists to reduce fungicide applications, making the production technology more economically efficient.

Flexibility in Sowing Density

The adaptability of this hybrid is confirmed by the wide range of recommended plant densities. Depending on the moisture levels of the site, farmers can vary the seeding rate: from 60,000–65,000 plants/ha on drier soils up to 85,000–90,000 plants/ha on irrigated plots or in zones with high precipitation. This variability makes Motivi KS a versatile tool for density management and maximizing the yield potential of specific fields.
