Corn LID2214C

Agronomic Management of LID2214C

Registered in Ukraine in 2026, the LID2214C maize hybrid from Lidea France SAS is designed for intensive farming systems. To unlock its full yield potential, growers must align their agronomic practices with the hybrid's specific physiological requirements.

Sowing Strategy and Plant Density

The optimal sowing window begins when soil temperatures at planting depth reach +10°C to +12°C. Early establishment is key to utilizing spring moisture reserves. Recommended harvest populations are as follows:

• High-moisture regions: 75,000–85,000 plants per hectare.
• Variable moisture regions: 60,000–70,000 plants per hectare.

Soil Requirements and Nutrition

LID2214C performs best on fertile, well-drained soils. The hybrid shows a high response to nitrogen application, particularly during the V6–V8 growth stages, which is critical for ear development. Zinc application during early vegetative stages is highly recommended to support root development and overall plant vigor.

Growth Stage Management

Weed control should be prioritized between the V3 and V5 stages to prevent early-season competition. During the silking and grain-filling stages, the hybrid is highly sensitive to water stress; maintaining adequate moisture is essential for maximizing kernel weight. Integrated pest management, specifically targeting the European corn borer, should be implemented around the tasseling stage to ensure stalk integrity and prevent yield losses prior to harvest.
