Field Strategy of MAS 409X: Stress Adaptation

A new addition to the MAS SEEDS portfolio, registered in Ukraine in 2026, this hybrid is designed for growers operating in volatile climatic conditions. The maize hybrid demonstrates high plasticity, helping to mitigate risks associated with moisture deficits during critical growth stages.

Response to Drought and Heat

The key feature of MAS 409X is its ability to maintain metabolic activity under extreme temperatures. The hybrid's genetic potential is geared toward efficient soil moisture utilization, minimizing the risk of growth stagnation during July and August. The plant exhibits excellent pollen fertility even under thermal stress, ensuring full kernel set on the ear.

Agronomic Reliability

• Lodging Resistance: A robust root system and strong stalk allow the hybrid to withstand high wind loads late in the season, which is critical for preventing harvest losses.
• Phytosanitary Profile: MAS SEEDS breeding traditionally focuses on tolerance to major maize pathogens. MAS 409X possesses high immunity to ear and stalk fusarium, ensuring high-quality grain with minimal mycotoxin content.
• Growing Zones: The hybrid shows stable results in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. Thanks to rapid grain moisture dry-down, it is suitable for farms looking to optimize post-harvest drying costs.

Choosing MAS 409X is a commitment to yield predictability in an era where weather anomalies are becoming the norm.
