Corn LID2288C

Agronomic Profile of the LID2288C Hybrid

Registered in Ukraine in 2026, the LID2288C maize hybrid by Lidea France SAS is designed for high-input farming systems. To unlock its full yield potential, growers must adhere to precise management practices, particularly regarding plant density and nutrient timing.

Seeding and Plant Density

The hybrid's performance is highly dependent on the spatial arrangement of plants. Recommended seeding rates are as follows:

• High-moisture/irrigated conditions: 75,000–80,000 plants per hectare.
• Arid or moisture-limited conditions: 60,000–65,000 plants per hectare.

Planting should commence once soil temperatures reach +10...+12°C at seeding depth. Early establishment is vital for developing a robust root system capable of accessing deep soil moisture during the critical grain-filling stages.

Soil Requirements and Crop Management

LID2288C thrives in fertile, well-drained soils with a neutral pH. In terms of nutrition, a split-application strategy for nitrogen is highly recommended. Apply the primary dose pre-planting, followed by a side-dress application at the V6–V8 growth stage. This timing aligns with the period of rapid vegetative growth and the initiation of reproductive organ development.

Weed control is paramount between the V3 and V7 stages. As an intensive hybrid, LID2288C is sensitive to early-season competition for light and nutrients. Herbicide applications should be completed before the V8 stage to prevent phytotoxicity during the rapid stem elongation phase, ensuring the crop maintains its physiological momentum.
