Corn hybrid LFH 1909 is an early-maturing hybrid with FAO 190, developed by the Institute of Steppe Agriculture of NAAN Ukraine. The plant is medium-height, reaching 190-200 cm, and does not bush out. The ear is cylindrical in shape, 18-20 cm long, with 16-18 rows of kernels and 36-38 kernels per row. The kernels are yellow and dent-shaped, with a 1000-kernel weight of 270-280 g. The ear attachment height is at 60-70 cm, facilitating harvesting and reducing yield losses.
The hybrid is intended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones at a planting density of 75-80 thousand plants per hectare in forest-steppe and 50-55 thousand in steppe. The potential grain yield is 11.0-12.5 t/ha, equivalent to 110-125 c/ha. The corn is characterized by high grain yield — 80-85%, as well as intensive moisture release, which simplifies the drying and storage of the harvest.
LFH 1909 exhibits high resistance to lodging, cold, drought, major diseases, and pest damage, scoring 7 out of 9 in these parameters. The hybrid responds well to improved growing conditions, enabling its full potential to be realized with modern agronomic technologies. These qualities make LFH 1909 a reliable choice for achieving stable and high grain yields under various climatic conditions.
