ISTEO — is a mid-early simple hybrid of sweet corn (Zea mays L.), included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region. The plant is characterized by high stature and wide leaves, with a curved leaf blade shape and medium anthocyanic coloration of various plant parts, including the sheath of the first leaf, roots, and silk. The ear is long, cylindrical, with medium-length stalk and medium row density. The kernel is dent-shaped, with an orange upper part and yellow-orange lower part, giving the ear an attractive appearance. The vegetative period is approximately 124 days, slightly exceeding standard values. The ISTEO hybrid demonstrates high yield: average grain yield in the region reaches 75.5 c/ha, which is 53.8% higher than the standard, with maximum yields reaching up to 120.3 c/ha. Dry matter content in the grain is 38.7%, also exceeding standard values. Grain moisture at harvest is at 32.4%. The hybrid is resistant to corn borer, which helps maintain yield and reduce losses during cultivation. ISTEO is suitable for cultivation under various conditions in the Central Chernozem region, ensuring stable and high yields when recommended agronomic practices are followed. Due to its characteristics, such as high drought tolerance, good soil fertility utilization, and adaptation to climatic conditions, this hybrid is an optimal choice for farmers seeking high-quality and abundant sweet corn yields.
