Maize ES TRAVELER

Genetic performance of EC Traveler: focus on grain output

The EC Traveler hybrid, developed by French breeder Euralis Semences, is engineered for consistency in grain production. The technical core of this hybrid lies in its flint-dent grain type. This morphological structure is crucial: the flint component provides early-season vigor and stress tolerance, while the dent component facilitates efficient moisture release and high-intensity dry matter accumulation during grain fill.

Key Specifications

• FAO: 90–1240, reflecting a broad adaptability range across various growing environments.
• Usage: Grain-specific cultivation. The internal starch matrix of the endosperm is optimized for high yield stability, ensuring efficient harvesting metrics.

Planting Density Guidelines

To maximize the photosynthetic capacity of EC Traveler, field operators should adjust density based on site-specific agronomic conditions:

• 60,000–65,000 plants/ha: Recommended for areas with moisture limitations to ensure optimal nutrient and water availability per plant.
• 70,000–75,000 plants/ha: Recommended for high-yield environments with adequate irrigation or precipitation to leverage the hybrid's maximum cob-filling potential.

Proper adherence to these density parameters prevents lodging and ensures uniform maturation, which is essential for reducing harvest losses. By choosing EC Traveler, producers benefit from a predictable growth model, allowing for optimized machinery performance and reliable grain throughput.
