Erest — mid-early simple hybrid sweet corn with FAO 250, developed by the breeding company HIKS Ukraine. This hybrid is intended for grain production and is distinguished by high yield due to excellent plasticity and adaptability to various growing conditions. Erest is recommended for sowing in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine, where it demonstrates stable results even under insufficient moisture due to high drought resistance.
The plant features a strong stem reaching 240-270 cm in height and a well-developed root system, ensuring stability and good nutrition. The leaves are yellow-green, and the ear is weakly conical in shape, positioned at a height of 90-100 cm. The ear length is 22-24 cm with a diameter of 4.5-5 cm. The dent-type yellow grain has high starch and protein content, with the number of rows of kernels per ear varying from 16 to 18, and the 1000-kernel weight ranging from 310-340 g.
The Erest hybrid exhibits rapid moisture release at maturity, facilitating timely harvest and reducing losses. It possesses high resistance to common corn diseases, enhancing cultivation profitability. Sowing is recommended with increased seeding rate and use of high agro-film to maximize the hybrid's productive potential.
