DS1157A

The DS1157A corn hybrid from Dow Seeds is a simple hybrid with dent grain, primarily intended for grain production. This mid-early maturity hybrid with FAO 220 is recommended for planting in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia and steppes. The hybrid is characterized by high cold resistance, enabling early and stable yields even under adverse weather conditions.

The plant features a tall stem, 250-280 cm in height, and a robust root system providing good drought and summer heat tolerance. The ear forms at a height of 120-140 cm, contains 14-16 rows of kernels, with each row having 28-35 kernels. The 1000-kernel weight is 260-280 grams. Due to its strong reversion ability, the grain continues to fill even under adverse conditions, and the mature grain remains firmly attached to the ear, reducing losses during harvest.

The hybrid demonstrates good emergence and high growth energy in early vegetative stages, contributing to rapid plant development. High drought tolerance and good water use efficiency ensure a stable yield potential of up to 15 tons per hectare. The maximum recorded yield in 2016 was 97.2 c/ha.
