Corn hybrid DS1382A is a grain hybrid recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe regions. This medium-early three-line hybrid was registered in 2017 and is characterized by high yield, reaching 54.5 centners per hectare in steppe regions, 73.1 centners per hectare in Polissia, and 76.8 centners per hectare in forest-steppe zones. The producer of this hybrid is NAAN of Ukraine, which confirms its adaptation to local agroclimatic conditions and requirements of Ukrainian agriculture.
DS1382A exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: drought resistance is rated at 7.9-8.9 points, lodging resistance at 8.8-9 points, and resistance to diseases and certain pests at 9 points. These characteristics make the hybrid a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality harvest even under variable climate conditions and potential stress factors.
Studies conducted between 2016-2018 on the experimental field of Orenburg State Agrarian University confirmed the high productivity of the DS1382A hybrid at the optimal seeding rate of 60,000 plants per hectare. It was also found that early soil preparation contributes to maximum accumulation of productive moisture and increased dry matter content in plants, positively affecting the energy value of the harvest. An important element of cultivation technology is using barley as a preceding crop in a two-crop rotation, which improves growing conditions for corn and increases its yield.
