Corn CS 178 SV is a three-line early-maturing hybrid with a vegetation period of about 100–104 days and belongs to FAO class 200. This hybrid is intended for cultivation in various regions, including Central, Volga-Vyatka, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. Plants reach a height of 210–230 cm, with ears forming at a height of about 80 cm. Leaves are narrow of medium width, ears are long and of medium thickness, kernels are dent-shaped with yellow color.
CS 178 SV is characterized by high yield: grain yields 75–90 c/ha, silage yields 400–500 c/ha at a plant density of 55–60 thousand plants per hectare, with potential increase of 15% for silage use. Average grain yield in the Far Eastern region is about 34.9 c/ha, with yields reaching 78–79 c/ha in favorable years. The hybrid has high resistance to stalk rot, ensuring reliable and stable yields.
To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to use black fallow as a preceding crop and a seeding rate of about 70 thousand seeds per hectare. Corn CS 178 SV is a grain and feed hybrid included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of Russia since 2015, and is suitable for cultivation under a wide range of climatic conditions, making it a universal choice for agricultural enterprises.
