Description MTI
Hybrid maize MTI is a simple mid-season, mid-height hybrid developed by MTI Maize Technologies International SRL. It has a vegetation period ranging from 90 to 115 days depending on the variant, with a FAO range of 200-360, allowing its use in various climatic conditions. The plant is medium to tall, reaching heights of 210 to 230 cm and having 15 to 17 leaves. The ear is cylindrical, medium-sized, with 14 to 16 rows of kernels. The kernels are predominantly dent or semisilky, yellow or dark-yellow, with a 1000-kernel weight of 280-300 grams. Grain yield at harvest reaches 77-80%, and dry matter yield without irrigation varies from 70 to 140 centners per hectare depending on growing conditions. Hybrid MTI is characterized by high resistance to various diseases, including stalk rot and rust, as well as lodging and stem breakage. It possesses unique heat and drought tolerance, making it especially valuable for cultivation in adverse climatic regions. At maturity, the grain quickly loses moisture, facilitating harvest and reducing storage losses. Early plant development is marked by high cold tolerance, expanding planting possibilities in more northern regions. MTI is versatile in use: it can be used for grain production, silage, and biofuel production due to its high ear content in silage mass. The hybrid demonstrates stable productivity under various cultivation conditions and belongs to the best in its maturity group by potential yield. The recommended planting density is 55-60 thousand plants per hectare, which enables optimal utilization of the hybrid’s potential and high yield performance.
