Maize STEPNYAK MV

Technical profile of the 'Stepnyak MV' hybrid

Developed by the Donskoy Agricultural Research Center, this maize hybrid is engineered for stable yields under intensive farming practices. The core genetic advantage of 'Stepnyak MV' is its high resistance to Fusarium ear rot, a critical factor for maintaining grain quality and safety in seasons with high humidity or intensive crop rotation.

Agronomic and morphological specifications

• Maturity class: Mid-early maturity. The optimized vegetation period ensures efficient utilization of heat resources without the risk of yield loss due to early frosts.
• Yield quality: The hybrid features a dent-like grain type (intermediate), combining the traits of flint and dent maize. The yellow-orange color and high grain filling density make it an ideal choice for feed production.
• Grain architecture: The dented structure provides excellent physical characteristics for long-term feed storage and mechanical processing into animal rations.

Practical application in livestock farming

'Stepnyak MV' is specifically designed as a reliable asset for livestock feed production. Its inherent resistance to fungal diseases (specifically Fusarium) reduces the risk of mycotoxin contamination, protecting livestock health during the fattening process. By incorporating this hybrid, farmers ensure a predictable supply of high-quality forage, which supports efficient conversion rates and improves overall productivity in cattle and swine feeding programs.
