Clover Sparta

A Reliable Choice for Fodder Productivity

The 'Sparta' clover, developed by the Institute of Fodder of the UAAS, is specifically engineered for agricultural enterprises aiming for high yields of green mass and nutrient-dense hay. Unlike many wild varieties, this cultivar is optimized for the intensive crop rotations common in Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions.

Key Characteristics

• Root System: A strong taproot ensures deep soil penetration, providing excellent drought resistance and soil structure improvement.
• High Yield: As a high-yielding cultivar, it is capable of delivering multiple cuts per season under favorable conditions.
• Morphology: Distinguished by its vibrant red flower heads, 'Sparta' is a classic representative of red clover, highly valued for its protein content.

Target Producers

'Sparta' is an ideal fit for livestock farms that prioritize self-sufficiency in high-quality protein feed. By incorporating this variety into permanent or temporary pastures, producers can significantly reduce feed costs. However, to maximize the quality of the harvest, strict adherence to mowing schedules is essential. The variety is highly responsive to management; while it offers impressive productivity, it performs best for farmers who maintain professional crop rotation practices and soil nutrient balance. It is an optimal solution for those looking for a proven, stable performer in their forage production cycle.
