Zinnia MIKHUTA RED

Field Report: Growing Zinnia 'Mishutka Alaya'

For those involved in landscaping, 'Mishutka Alaya' from the Kapris farm stands out as a reliable and aesthetically striking option. Developed by Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Shepelev, this variety is engineered for consistent performance in open-field conditions, prioritizing both structural integrity and deep, vibrant pigmentation.

Performance and Cultivation Insights

• Plant Architecture: With a height ranging from 50 to 90 cm, this zinnia is versatile. It is sturdy enough to withstand wind gusts without the need for staking, making it an excellent candidate for both borders and central bedding displays.
• Color Stability: The deep red hue is remarkably lightfast. Unlike many other red flowers that tend to bleach or turn dull under harsh, direct sunlight, 'Mishutka Alaya' maintains its intensity throughout the season.
• Maintenance: From a management perspective, this variety is undemanding. It thrives with standard fertilization and consistent irrigation. The root system is robust, providing good resistance to short-term moisture deficits.

Best Practices for Deployment

To maximize the visual impact, we recommend mass planting. When grouped together, the 'Mishutka Alaya' provides a dense, carpet-like effect of vivid red that is visible from a significant distance. Because the plants grow up to 90 cm tall, correct spacing is essential to ensure adequate airflow, which prevents humidity build-up at the base and keeps the plants healthy. With minimal effort, you can maintain a tidy, highly decorative look from the early blooming stage straight through to the first frost. This variety is a practical solution for anyone seeking a high-reward, low-maintenance ornamental plant for open-ground cultivation.
