Chrysanthemum Zolote Runo

Practical Application in Landscape Design

The «Zolote Runo» chrysanthemum, developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, is a premier selection adapted for regions with cold, variable climates. Its high frost resistance makes it an essential asset for gardeners who prioritize low-maintenance plants that retain their ornamental value deep into the autumn season.

Distinguished by its large, pompon-shaped flowers (exceeding 10 cm in diameter), «Zolote Runo» serves as an excellent focal point in mixed borders and group plantings. Flowering begins in September and continues for over 40 days, providing a reliable source of vibrant yellow color just as most garden plants fade. Because the flowers have no scent, this cultivar is perfectly suited for planting near outdoor seating areas, patios, and home entrances.

Agrotechnical Recommendations

• Site Selection: This variety requires full sun to maintain its structure. In shaded areas, the stems may lose strength, and the pompon bloom diameter will decrease.
• Cultivation: Bred in Ukraine, this plant is designed for open ground. It is highly resistant to frost, requiring no special overwintering protection in most climates.
• Best Scenarios: Ideal for creating distinct color blocks in landscapes or as standalone specimens on lawns. Its predictable growth cycle allows for precise scheduling of decorative autumn work in the garden.

By choosing «Zolote Runo», you are opting for a robust, field-tested variety that combines the expertise of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with high aesthetic performance in garden beds.
