Monomakh'S Hat

Chrysanthemum 'Monomakh's Hat' is a bushy, large-flowered Korean variety suitable for both cut flowers and ornamental use. The plant is robust, reaching 70–80 cm in height, making it ideal for creating multi-level colorful compositions when combined with fruiting shrubs, raspberries, and barberry. The blooms are semi-double, 9–12 cm in diameter, with inner petals of red-bordeaux and outer petals with golden coating, giving the flowers an original and attractive appearance.

Blooming occurs at the end of August to early September, and flowering continues profusely and for a long period, sometimes until December. 'Monomakh's Hat' chrysanthemum is highly winter-hardy and can survive winter in Ukraine’s climate without protection. The plant is sun-loving and prefers light sandy or loamy soils without waterlogging, which is crucial for maintaining its health and decorative appeal.

To ensure abundant flowering, regular soil aeration and feeding are recommended, especially before rain or watering. In winter, stems should be cut back as close to the soil surface as possible. The plant tolerates storage in unheated rooms or cellars provided the soil remains moderately moist. The package includes a container with peat (0.5–1 L) and a rootstock with 5–7 stems, simplifying planting and care.
