Chrysanthemum Kazkova Vtixa

Cultivation and Handling

Managing this tall-growing variety requires strategic site planning. With a plant height exceeding 60 cm, the installation of support structures is non-negotiable. If left unsupported, the stems risk lodging under the weight of the anemone-type blooms, especially during periods of high precipitation or windy conditions. By securing the plants early in the season, you ensure the structural integrity of the stems and the aesthetic quality of the violet blossoms.

Post-Harvest and Commercial Use

For growers focusing on cut flowers, 'Kazkova Vtikha' offers excellent vase life. To maximize its longevity, harvesting should occur when the 5-10 cm flower heads are approximately 70% open. This ensures the violet pigment remains vibrant throughout the supply chain. The cultivar exhibits good handling characteristics, making it a reliable candidate for local floral markets and boutique landscaping projects.

Maintenance and Best Practices

• Nutrient Management: Applying potash and phosphorus fertilizers during the bud development stage is crucial for stem strength and color intensity.
• Watering Regimen: Consistent soil moisture is necessary to prevent stem brittleness, though proper drainage must be ensured to protect the root system.
• Pruning: Regular removal of faded florets is required to maintain the visual appeal of the anemone-shaped clusters throughout the season.

Bred by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, this hybrid is built for performance. While it demands attention to spatial support and precise hydration, it rewards the operator with high-quality, mid-sized blooms that remain a standout feature in any garden or arrangement.
