Chrysanthemum Khameleon

Technical Specifications of the 'Chameleon' Chrysanthemum

Developed by the Botanical Garden-Institute of the FEB RAS, the 'Chameleon' chrysanthemum is a specialized bush hybrid engineered for high architectural stability. With a plant height ranging from 30 to 60 cm, it exhibits a compact growth habit that provides excellent structural integrity, eliminating the need for support stakes in most landscaping scenarios.

Morphology and Color Dynamics

The name reflects the hybrid's distinctive color-shifting ability. The spherical flower heads, measuring 5–10 cm in diameter, display a sophisticated transition between white, yellow, and deep pink hues. This dual-color pattern is achieved through dense ligulate flower placement, ensuring the bloom remains visually cohesive throughout its maturity cycle.

Operational Performance

• Cold Hardiness: Bred with resistance to low temperatures, this variety is exceptionally well-suited for regions experiencing early September frosts, ensuring minimal crop damage.
• Flowering Cycle: The early blooming period (September) allows for a complete lifecycle before the onset of extreme weather, protecting the integrity of the harvest.
• Cut Flower Utility: Designed specifically for the cut flower market, the stem and flower geometry ensure a long vase life, making it a reliable choice for commercial arrangements and floral design.
